T'ang Court at the Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, brings three Michelin star Cantonese dining from Hong Kong to Shanghai with an exquisite new menu
T’ang Court has been a legendary icon of classic Cantonese cuisine in Hong Kong for more than 40 years. The revered restaurant at The Langham, Hong Kong was recently awarded three Michelin stars in the 2015 Michelin Guide, Hong Kong and Macau, one of only three Cantonese restaurants in the world to achieve this accolade.
Continuing this grand tradition in Shanghai, T’ang Court at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, introduces a brand new menu showcasing authentic Cantonese flavours with creative modern presentations. Talented Chinese Executive Chef Justin Tan from Guangdong province, the heartland of Cantonese cuisine, has also joined the team bringing his refined technique and creativity to the T’ang Court kitchen.
T’ang Court reflects the timelessness grandeur of the Tang Dynasty, China’s golden age. Surrounded by elegant furnishings and artistic table settings in 9 private rooms and an intimate main dining room overlooking Xintiandi, T’ang Court diners enjoy an exquisite menu featuring premium ingredients selected for their freshness, seasonality and health qualities.
Created by new Chinese Executive Chef Justin Tan, the mouthwatering menu combines T’ang Court’s award-winning dishes and modern Chinese interpretations.
The new menu is divided into Appetisers, Barbecued meats, a daily rotation of Seasonal soups, Live seafoood, Bird’s nest, abalone and sea cucumber, Premium meats, seafood and poultry dishes, and Rice and noodles. Two daily eight-course Business Lunch Set Menus and a choice of four eight-course Dinner Set Menus, plus a Vegetarian Set Menu are also offered.
Guests can also savour five signature dishes from T’ang Court in Hong Kong, which have each been honoured as ‘Gold with Distinction’ in the ‘Best of the Best Culinary Awards’. These include, Stir-fried fresh red lobster with spring onions, red onions and shallots; Sautéed prawns and crab roe accompanied with pork and crabmeat mille-feuille; and Sliced grouper with fish maw, preserved vegetables and tomatoes in fish soup.
A selection of Cantonese Lunch Dim Sum is served seven days a week. Upon request, the culinary team can tailor an individual menu showcasing the best of T'ang Court plus seasonal specialty dishes.
Service at T’ang Court is of the highest standard with elegantly attired waiters and waitresses ready to welcome guests on a bespoke culinary journey. Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English and trained to Michelin fine dining standards by The Langham’s Hong Kong team, waiters and waitresses not only provide seamless service but are able to offer knowledgeable menu recommendations and expert wine pairings to suit diners’ personal tastes and preferred dishes.
Enhancing the gourmet experience is a fine selection of more than 160 new and old world wines including Champagnes and dessert wines; Chinese and Japanese spirits; local and international beers; and premium Chinese teas. Several outstanding wines are also available by the glass. Resident sommelier Nathan Zhu has carefully selected each wine to complement the menu, with a focus on medium-bodied, fruity wines, such as Loire Valley, Burgundy and Rioja, which highlight the freshness of Cantonese cuisine without overpowering the delicate flavours.
