This May, The Peninsula Shanghai presents Coast to Coast, a three-week showcase of classic cuisines from across the Unites States.

From 9-29 May, diners at The Lobby can enjoy Executive Chef Terrence Crandall’s personal interpretations of authentic American dishes from the East and West Coasts and the Midwest. A selection of gourmet burgers, including a Maine Lobster Burger will also tantalise taste buds.

Week one is an East Coast culinary carnival. Guests can savour an inventive four-course menu including Maryland Crab Cakes with piquillo pepper, and New England Clam Chowder with oyster crackers and pepper-smoked bacon. The mouthwatering New York Cheesecake with organic strawberries is a delightful dessert.

Diners can head to the heart of the Midwest in week two. Chef Terrence’s four-course menu features hearty favourites including Tomato Soup with grilled cheese croutons, and a Whole Roasted Chicken with sweet corn grits. The Granny Smith Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce is a sumptuous treat.

Make a date with the sun-drenched West Coast in week three. The four-course menu is inspired by the cuisines of California and Texas, with delectable dishes such as Santa Barbara Prawn Tortilla Soup and Roasted Organic Pork with spiced corn. Leche Flan with fresh berries is a refreshing summer sensation.

The American East Coast, West Coast and Midwest four-course menus at The Lobby are each offered for one week only, priced at RMB 588*.
