iDEALShanghai Event Review
Last week, dozens of Shanghai Daily Readers Club members came to the newspaper office to get their prizes for “Vote for the Champion” game. More than 4,000 Shanghai Daily readers and iDEALShanghai fans in China and abroad took part in the World Cup guessing game and 88 people voted Germany as the champion.
A woman surnamed Xu joined the game because her twin boys are football fans and she was thrilled to win the biggest prize. “The Celsius Magnetic Exercise Bike is what I wanted for a long time,” she said.
Hu Ruiwen, an 11-year-old boy, can’t wait to play a Brazil 2014 football he just received. “Wow, how wonderful! I read Shanghai Daily every day. When I saw the event, I joined immediately.”
Jacob, another Shanghai Daily reader, said, “As an expat, I read Shanghai Daily every day to catch up with what’s going on in the city. Though I didn’t win the big prize, I am still excited to get a souvenir football.”
Most participants joined the guessing game by scanning a QR code with their mobile devices.
