InterNations, an international community for people living abroad, threw a big party in Shanghai on July 26. Around 170 local expats showed up and enjoyed the live music, canapés and drinks at 10 Corso Como, a trendy Italian boutique.
InterNations has over 1.3 million registered members worldwide and over 17,000 of them are in Shanghai, mostly business people and professionals from more than 50 countries. It holds a networking event almost every week and its partners include CNN, Lufthansa and HSBC.
In June, InterNations introduced its new ambassadors, Jared Bishop and Bryronie Richards from the USA. Bishop used to work in politics and always dreamed of coming to China. He now owns a Spanish restaurant in downtown Shanghai. Richards is a Jamaican-American from New York. They met the Shanghai members at the party.
