The Italian Sommelier Association organized the “Italian Wines Meet Chinese Food” event on September 22 at Restaurant Li Xuan in Shanghai. Three different Italian wines were paired with nine Chinese dishes.
Guests attending the wine tasting event included Italian General Consul in Shanghai Stefano Beltrame, Italian Trade Commissioner Claudio Pasqualucci, Italian Chamber of Commerce manager Antonella Sciarra, and representatives from Italian wine makers.
The dinner was hosted by the Italian Sommelier Association Shanghai Club. Club president Simone Semprini and celebrated Italian wine writer Roberto Lepori introduced all the wines for tasting.
The purpose of the event was to demonstrate the amazing pairing possibilities between Chinese food and Italian wines. A total of 28 wines from north Italy to south Italy were tasted.
