In a fun-filled display of friendship between Canada and China, more than three dozen students from Greater Shanghai schools joined Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne of Canada on a 3.5-kilometer “Run For Fun” in downtown Shanghai last Tuesday.
The international goodwill run included Canadian and Chinese middle and high school students from the Canadian International School Kunshan (CISK) in Jiangsu province and the Yew Chung International School of Shanghai (YCIS Shanghai). It also drew the participation of retired football players Ms. Pu Wei and Ms. Bai Lili of the China National Women’s Football Team, as well as participants from the Canadian community in Shanghai.
In Shanghai to mark her first international trade mission to China, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne commented, “Today’s ‘Run For Fun’ truly was a great activity for building on Ontario’s already close bond of friendship with Shanghai and the Chinese people.” She added, “I look forward to more cultural exchanges between Ontario and Shanghai so that we learn from each other and grow together.”
The “Run For Fun” event took place at Jing’an Workers Stadium, Shanghai on the morning that day.
