What to see in Shanghai during National Day holiday

As the autumn gets near, the annoying hot air is fading away and getting cooler. So it is very nice for travelling in this season. But because the national day holiday is around the corner and many people will choose travelling to spend the holiday, the attractions are bound to throng with visitors. Fortunately there are several interesting festivals to be held during the holiday and the venues of these events are mostly far away from downtown thus not that crowded.

1. 2015 Shanghai Happy valley International Magic Festival

It will be held in Shanghai Happy Valley. Over 20 magicians from 11 countries and regions will be invited to present a fabulous magic show for the visitors. Ayala, one of the greatest magicians across the world will offer an excellent illusion magic show when he will conjure a F1 car in front of your eyes, delivering strong visual impact.

2. Shanghai Film Park Qipao Festival

Qipao stresses a woman's body curve and can bring out the unique elegance of the females. While modern clothes still win the women’ favor, Qipao still has many followers as an embodiment of oriental beauty. Now the first Qiaopao festival will be held in Shanghai Film Park. In the festival, you will enjoy various Qipao shows and appreciate the beauty of Qipao and understand the general changes of it over the time.

3. 2015 Shanghai Songjiang Chrysanthemum Culture Festival

Autumn is a good time to appreciate the Chrysanthemum. In Chinese culture the symbolic meaning of chrysanthemum is nobility, seclusion and longevity. The second Chrysanthemum festival will be held in Maogang Town Wuku Agricultural Garden. The highlights of the festival are the “dream of seven colors” flower fields where different ground-cover Chrysanthemum varieties form colorful patterns like the rainbow falling on the ground. The chrysanthemums will give sweet fragrance especially when the wind is blowing.

4. French Apple Art Festival

French Apple Art Festival is organized by Chenshan Botanical Garden in conjunction with French Shannon botanic garden in order to present the interesting apple art to the audience. In this festival you will see painting artworks on the apples, container display and potted apple trees etc.. Aside from it, Chenshan Botanic Garden will also present sunflowers, succulents exhibitions etc.

5. 2015 Storm Electronic Music Festival

The 2015 Storm Electronic Music Festival, the largest outdoor electronic dance music festival in China, will be staged on October 3 and 4 at Binjiang Greenland. Scheduled to perform are electronic music heavyweights Tiesto, Skrillex, and Avicii. Tiesto was named “the greatest DJ of all time” by Mixmag, while Skrillex has won three Grammy Awards. The French Apple Art Festival will also run between September 30 and October 10 at Shanghai Chenshan Botanic Garden. The festival will feature some 1,000 apples decorated with images of the Mona Lisa, the Summer Palace and other scenes.
