TWG has three branches in Shanghai that offer the perfect opportunity for the city’s tea lovers to taste its more than 1,000 single-estate coffees, fine harvest teas and exclusive blends, as well as tea patisseries and other tea-infused delicacies. They also offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner with quiches, sandwiches, pastas, and more. 


Price: 120 yuan per afternoon tea set, including a pot of tea and a cake

Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai

As the warm afternoon sun streams in through the ceiling-high windows, the lobby lounge turns into a cozy retreat for afternoon tea with soothing piano music as pedestrians pass on the sidewalk. It is ideal for a family gathering, a casual business meeting, or a little party with friends. The afternoon tea package offers refreshments like shrimp toast, rainbow sandwich with organic vegetable puree, toffee chocolate mousse in shoes, and handbag cheese cake. Guests can pair them with their choice of coffee or tea. The hotel is in the vibrant Nanjing Road W. commercial district with an easy access to the Metro and other public transportation.


Price: 188 yuan per person or or 358 yuan per couple, including your choice of coffee or tea

Musang King 

As a chain cafe, it offers a variety of durian desserts and drinks such as durian layered cake (28 yuan) and Musang King pulp (38 yuan) made with durian pulp imported from Malaysia. Each customer is offered a glass of lemon water to remove the durian smell after eating one dessert and before trying another. Durian shake (25 yuan) is a popular drink made of milk and durian pulp. Founded in 2011, it operates 15 outlets in town and plans to open two more this year. 


Price: 85 yuan per set, including Musang King pulp, durian chiffon cake and royal durian creme brulee

Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai

There are two ways to indulge in the pleasure of afternoon tea. You may invite a close companion for chit-chat over tea or coffee on a weekday, or spoil yourself and your mate with the Grand Kempinski’s all-new afternoon tea buffet at the weekend. Take your pick of sweet treats such as the classic scone with marmalade and cream, chocolate fondant and Grand Marnier souffle, crepe station with nutella and banana, chocolate macaroon, sakura mascarpone chocolate tart, sakura creme choux, and sakura creme brulee.


Price: 208 yuan per set (two persons plus hot drinks); 168 yuan per person for weekend buffet (including a hot drink)
