The 2013 Shanghai Book Fair opens today at Shanghai Exhibition Center and runs until next Tuesday. Featuring more than 500 publishers and 150,000 books, the event this year has also extended its hours, with book lovers able to browse between 9am to 9pm.
Oganiizers promise much better free Wi-fi coverage than last year, as well as mobile phone charging areas.
Nearly 40 authors, poets and critics have been invited, including Italian Paolo Giordano, British author Geoff Dyer, writer and translator Han Shaogong, among others.
The admission fee is 10 yuan (US$1.63) for daytime entry and 5 yuan for evening entry at 6pm. Tickets will be available at the exhibition gate.
