The weather forecast calls for pleasant weather as children across the city start the new semester today under a mostly cloudy sky and a high of 29 degrees Celsius.
The low will be 24 degrees.
According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, the temperature will peak at 30 degrees this week with mainly cloudy skies.
Both Tuesday and Wednesday will hit 30 degrees while on Thursday and Friday the mercury will dip to 28 degrees under an overcast sky. It will likely rain on Thursday and Friday, the bureau said.
Lows this week will range between 23 and 25 degrees.
The bureau said the temperature would start a downward trend this month when asked about an Indian summer.
It has launched a 24-hour air quality forecast to be released daily at 5pm and yesterday the bureau said the AQI would be 20-40 last night, 45-65 this morning and 40-60 this afternoon.
The bureau also has plans to launch a 48-hour air quality forecast. Temperatures in the city will peak at 30 degrees this week, according to forecasters, and rain is likely on Thursday and Friday.
