SPRING is the time of year for renewal. It’s full of energy and inspiration. It’s also a time when many activities are held around the city. Shanghai’s grand shopping malls even get in on the act by offering a variety of events including an art exhibition, a chance to adopt a plant, a Lego adventure for children and more.
Shanghai Daily recommends four shopping malls holding special events for a limited time. Don’t miss out as there’s much more to do besides shopping and eating at these malls.

Building a Lego love model
May 11 is Mother’s Day and teachers at Lego Education Center at Kerry Parkside have just the thing for children to show their feelings about their mom.
Children can use Lego bricks to build something special for their mom and/or dad with the guidance of the center’s staff. Kids can go solo or even build something with their parents. Playing together can create a strong bond between parents and children. It also can lead to a sense of achievement and sharing among children.
Easter may be officially over, but it’s still going at Anting Life Hub until Sunday.
Sculptor Zhou Beili has been invited to decorate the shopping mall with a variety of Easter eggs both big and small. Most of the eggs hang in the air although there are 30 rather large specimens on the floor. The sculptor has also created a lovely rabbit that may just remind some of Peter Cottontail.
Follow the mall’s WeChat account (嘉亭荟) between 1pm and 6pm everyday through Friday for a chance to win gifts in a lucky draw.
