Two trains have been converted into dining rooms with old-fashioned leather seats. Train No.97318, made in Germany in 1899, was owned by Qing Dynasty Empress Dowager Cixi, while Train No.97431, built in Russia in 1919, was chartered by China's first lady, Soong Ching Ling, wife of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The delightful atmosphere contributes to an enhanced enjoyment of the meal, adding flavor to what might otherwise have been a simple repast. In particular, the broad bean paste, stewed beef sirloin and tendon, and Old Station fried noodles are worthy of mention. English menu available.
