Located on the second floor of Bund 22, a red brick historic building built in 1906, Napa offers a close view of the skyline of the Lujiazui financial zone and the glittering Huangpu River.
Napa distinguishes itself through its fine wining experience's concept: Great wines and great food complement each other. Their wine menu of around 100 pages is considered one of the best in Shanghai.
Napa’s four-course set is in demand due to Chateau Margaux, known as the most elegant and feminine of the Bordeaux first growth wines. The set includes four glasses of the winery’s signature wines.
The set starts with Norwegian scallops on a bed of cauliflower couscous paired with Pavillon Blanc 2009, a Margaux white known for its strength and elegance. The scallops are flown in from Norway twice a week.
Then comes the roast pigeon with Chateau Margaux 2002, followed by the Angus beef short rib with Pavillon Rouge 2010, which Bentzen says is his most impressive pairing.
Food is authentic continental with a modern touch. Their dimly lit underground wine cellar, with the owner's collection of top wines, is known only to connoisseurs yet deserves to be explored.
