Located in an Art Deco building constructed in 1933 as a slaughterhouse and later used as a factory, 1933 Contemporary is an avant-garde gallery of 400 square meters and is committed to displaying and promoting original art works by talented artists from everywhere. Opened in 2011, the gallery was initially located at 50 Moganshan Road, a hub of art studios and galleries better known as M50. In the past three years, 1933 Contemporary has held 13 exhibitions to introduce some of China’s most promising young artists.
