Naam Thai is the prodigy of Walter Zahner of T8 in Xintiandi. Compared to other Thai restaurants in the city, it is a modern bistro with a minimalist design displaying touches of Thai here and there. Salads, appetizers and curries are all created to satisfy your taste buds. The signature, authentic Thai food includes deep-fried pandan chicken, Australian sirloin steak salad with spicy northeastern dipping sauce, pomelo salad, and steamed brown Thai rice (not many places offer a healthy alternative to white rice). Fusion dishes are interesting and delicious with items such as caramelized salmon with green mango and longan, salmon pearls and roasted garlic, roasted duck in red curry with lychees, and black ink spaghetti with soft shell crab. Having worked and lived in Thailand for almost nine years, Zahner loves to eat tasty and flavorsome Thai food which didn't exist in town to his satisfaction. Naam Thai offers new taste experiences and such dishes are very common amongst the young Thai diners in Bangkok. Food lovers with a sweet tooth are also bound to love the desserts here, such as creme brulee with pandan flavor, mango cheese cake with passion fruit topping and the world-famous mango sticky rice.
