The opening of Mr Willis was probably the biggest recent event on Anfu Road. Tucked away on the third floor of a converted old house, the restaurant is so comfortable that it feels more like a home rather than an eatery. Craig Willis, the former Wagas group chef, created the Mediterranean menu with the concept "everyone can try a bit of everything." Willis prefers this sharing concept and he wants guests to feel relaxed and comfortable. "You can always sit comfortably in our laid-back atmosphere, start with a martini and share simple, classic food," Willis said. For first-time guests, Willis recommends antipasti, chicken liver pate, braised lamb shanks (good during the winter), and the signature Mr Willis roast chicken. Dinner costs about 250 yuan per person for three courses. The eatery also provides Saturday and Sunday brunch with a big selection of fresh pastry, eggs, cheese and mains. The first floor of the same building houses La Strada pizzeria, also created by Willis. The 30-seat eatery offers 14 types of Italian-style, thin crust pizzas. There is a small selection of antipasti, salads and baked foods. You can also order pizzas from the cafe Amokka and Mr Willis. The owner's favorite pizza is Patate, Melanzane and Rucola.
