This is a three-story French-style villa with a quiet back garden. From the outside, the building displays an old Shanghai feel and the Western influence shared by most of the other villas on the street. Yet the difference is that this is the former residence of one of China's most prominent historical figures, the first Premier of the People's Republic of China Zhou Enlai.
During 1946-47, this was the Shanghai representative office of the Communist Party of China where Zhou held many important press conferences and met with many famous patriotic people. Officially turned into a memorial hall in 1979, the house exhibits some of the priceless documents and articles written by Zhou. Surrounded by heavy vegetation, the residence is quiet and peaceful.
