Suzhou Creek Modern Art Museum was opened to the public in 2005 as an international modern art exchange platform that combines art exhibitions, exchanges and other services aimed at “Creating Modern Art and Helping Young Artists.”
Situated along the Suzhou Creek, the Art Museum is housed in a renovated late Qing Dynasty building that stands seven stories high and covers 2,000 square meters. It also houses businesses like Suzhou Creek Art, Suzhou Creek Western Food and Suzhou Creek Cafe & Bar.
The art exhibition halls are built on the second, third and fourth floors with an area of 1,000 square meters reserved for modern Chinese art exhibitions and performances. International exhibitions are also held in the museum. You can find a cafe and bar is on the fifth floor and a western food restaurant on the sixth floor, which offers high quality service. The nostalgic atmosphere in the building will remind you of Shanghai in the old days.
