Add:Outside Changmen Gate, Jingchang District, Suzhou
Stretching over 3.5 kilometers, Shantang Street is a 1,500-year-old street that lines one of Suzhou's many canals, connecting Changmen Gate and Tiger Hill.
Shantang Street was built by Bai Juyi, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, and became prosperous in the Song Dynasty. With many private gardens, old bridges and old architecture, it was the largest business street. Now, there are many old shops, restaurants and teahouses on Shantang Street, making it a popular area for locals and tourists.
