Contemporary Art in Past Three Decades “Sight Seeing” , “Climb Up and Stabilize” and “Know Nowhere to Go” by Ji Wenyu and Zhu Weibing “Urban Vision — Shanghai Contemporary Art Exhibition 2015” is running at Cloud Art Center through November 22.
The exhibition features 72 artists including some of the big names such as Zhang Enli, Ding Yi and Xue Song. Curated by Li Xiaofeng, the exhibition tries to reflect the development of the contemporary art in Shanghai in the past three decades. It is divided into canvas, abstract art, installation, ink-wash painting, video, sculpture and photo.
The highlight of the exhibition goes to “Sight-Seeing” created by Ji Wenyu and Zhu Weibing. Using cloth, fiberfill and wood, the two artists conjure up a narrative scene that reveals the longing of the urban person to go back to the nature.
