It's hard to believe that it's been 8 years since Shanghai became infected by a sonically transmitted disease that has pumped through the pulse of nightlife ever since. S.T.D has came a long way, from dimly lit dive bars to being the lifeblood of Arkham's dark heart in the centre of underground music. Now, they congregate on one of the best nights of the year to celebrate this sonic sickness in all its glory.
Kicking off their haunted Halloween lineup is Jack Adams, better known as Mumdance. When he was discovered by Diplo in 2008, Mumdance became known for his unique collision of the indie and British grime sound that was soon in high demand for remixes and collaborations with big electronic names. His touring has led to the combination of many styles of music around the world, which can be heard distinctly in his new sounds. He's returning to us with his new LP, Twists and Turns, which represents his 'back to the drawing-board' music after a two-year hiatus.
Elf Kid is joining him on stage, bringing the underground south London grime to our underground home. Elf Kid has performed at festivals and shows all over the UK at festivals such as Glastonbury, Sonar, The Warehouse Project and many more. He will be complimenting Mumdance's distinct sound with his UK swag for our listening pleasure on the Arkham stage this Halloween!
In the truest of Halloween spirit is no other than Faris Badwan, the lead singer of The Horrors, coming to play an exclusive DJ set for us. The Horrors hail from Britain, and bring an edgy UK vibe to a rock-and-roll, punk lovechild style of music. Their music does what good music should do- energize, excite, polarize, and divide. Their explosive shows take you to new heights of energy, and you’ll find it difficult not to thrash around on the dance floor with him as he thrashes around on stage. Their music brings you back to those years of youthful rebellion, and will revitalize you as we dance-riot throughout Arkham.
