Rudolf Buchbinder, who is firmly established as one of the world’s foremost pianists, was invited by German orchestra Staatskapelle Dresden to perform at Shanghai Symphony Hall. His comprehensive repertoire encompasses numerous 20th-century compositions. Buchbinder studied with Bruno Seidlhofer at the Vienna Academy of Music. He toured North and South America, won a special prize awarded at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and toured with the Vienna Philharmonic before appearing as soloist. Buchbinder was featured in a 2009 German-Austrian documentary about a Steinway & Sons piano tuner.
