Violinist Gidon Kremer will give a recital in Shanghai in June. The program will include works by Shostakovich, Ravel and Franck.
Born in Riga, Latvia, Kremer began studying at the age of four with his father and grandfather, both distinguished string players. Later success in international competitions launched his distinguished career. Kremer’s repertoire encompasses standard classical and romantic violin works, as well as music by masters such as Henze, Berg and Stockhausen. An exceptionally prolific recording artist, Kremer has made more than 120 albums.
